Wasted Sunshine, dramatic comedy, follows Danny Moore, a devout Alcoholics Anonymous member, on a visit to see his estranged Father, Victor Moore. At first, the two men have very little to say to one another. They lost touch almost five years ago, just after Danny's Mother passed away from an allergic reaction to pencillin.

Danny could no longer put up with the days and of nights of drinking with the old man, so he moved out of Florida and established himself as a successful Manhattan photographer. Now, on his return to Islamorada, Danny snubs his Father. Offers of beer and cigarettes are looked down upon by the reformed son. Eventually, a messy love-triangle evolves between Danny and his Dad's new wife, Melody Barnes, who happens to be Danny's age.
