With the help of his friends, Greenmind was filmed during Safron's 1998 winter break from Brandeis University. Over this chilly two week break, 12 and a half hours of 16mm black and white footage was shot in and around Waltham, Massachusetts.

The main location of Greenmind was the Brandeis University radio station, where Safron worked as the Music Director. The final film aired at a few festivals including the Independent Feature Market and the Boston Underground Film Festival. Most recently, Greenmind screened at the Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan, New York.

Various versions of Greenmind currently exist. There is a two-hour director cut, an eighty-minute cut for festival screenings and a forty minute version for those with short-attention spans.
